Experience the unspoiled natural beauty of Sapa on this 3-day, 2-night trek from Sa Pa to Ban Ho, staying two nights with local families and passing through several different ethnic villages along the way. QUICK INFORMATION Duration: 3 days / 2 nights Group Size: 1-6 guests Meeting Point: Sa Pa Stone Church, Sa Pa Town Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging ITINERARY Day 1 - Sa Pa to Lao Chai We meet at 8:30am at the stone church in Sa Pa to begin the trek, taking in views over the rice terraces and villages from the top of town. We continue through Y Linh Ho (about 2 hours) for photos of the rice terraces and lunch with local people, then trek on to Lao Chai village before arriving at my homestay for a home-cooked dinner with my family and a peaceful night's rest. Day 2 - Lao Chai to Ban Ho After a home-made breakfast at 8:30am, we depart at 9:30am for Giang Ta Chai, passing bamboo forests, rice terraces, mountain trails and waterfalls. Lunch is at Su Pan village, then we continue trekking to Ban Ho village, where we stay overnight with a Tay ethnic family for dinner and sleep. Day 3 - Ban Ho to Sa Pa After breakfast, trekking begins at 9:30am toward Nam Toong, before we walk back to Ban Ho village for lunch. A taxi then takes us back to Sa Pa Town, where the trip ends. Good to know: bring good hiking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, mosquito repellent and a warm jacket.
